  • Inspiration - KNU has developed a student-friendly environment where students learn with sheer enjoyment. Choice Based Credit System has been introduced, which is helping the students select courses according to their choices and needs. Student-centric teaching-learning methods followed by the teachers make the learning process effective; students participate in discussions with resource persons and also with fellow students, and it ignites their thoughts and feelings.
  • Innovation - A favourable infrastructure in the University for Advanced Research with state-of-the-art laboratory and library facilities forming part of Information Communication Technology (ICT), a cutting-edge technology, is facilitating the researchers and teachers to engage themselves in innovative research work.
  • Inculcation - One of the special features of KNU is that a true democratic atmosphere is maintained in the campus. All the stakeholders of the University resolve their issues through democratic processes. Mutual respect, equality across class, caste, creed, gender, socio-economic strata are practised in the University.
  • Integration - KNU fraternity follows in letter and spirit the Upanishadic teaching 'Vasudhaivakutumbakam' (in Sanskrit) – ‘The world is a family’. The goal of academic and non-academic transactions in the University is to connect oneself with others and also with nature that embraces all of us, and this connectedness to others and to nature helps one finally to connect to one’s real self.Sustainable development of human civilization emerges from this integration.

With these commitments KNU has been striving for realization of harmony everywhere.
